Announcements: Next Year, Report Cards, etc.

A couple of important things to mention!

• Frozen Yogurt Fridays have come to an end. It has sold out and was a successful fundraiser for the school :)
• We will be sending home a list of supplies for next year next week with our current JKs, along with each child's first day of school (since Kindergarten has staggered entry). The list is similar to this year, but with a few minor changes. We will also be supplying Important Bags to those who wish to buy them through us. They can be purchased for $1.50. Some are still in good condition, but some have definitely seen better days!
• Current JKs and SKs can find out who their teacher is for next year on the last day of school on the front door. On your child's report card is an OEN (Ontario Education Number) underneath your child's name. I believe that this is what is being used to identify your child on this list. Please be aware that class building is a very complicated process and a lot of time and thought is put into it. We don't simply 'plop' students into classes. We look at all 55 SKs and we consider behaviour, academic level, gender, birthdays, and siblings. We can absolutely not guarantee that students will be with their current friends from this year, but try to ensure at least some current classmates are with them.
• Report cards will also go home next week. As many of you know, we are on a current work-to-rule and were instructed by our union to provide each student with one sentence for each subject. If you have any major concerns, I hope that we have already discussed them, but if not,  I'm available to talk before or after school next week. Thank you for understanding the current situation we have been placed in.
