I hope you all are having a great summer and are ready for a great year together :) Time is ticking and we are getting closer to school beginning. I hope all of our JK parents have been helping their child build independence slowly over the past couple of months to help with the transition.
Just as a reminder, we have 45 minute JK visits on Tuesday September 6th. Here is the schedule in case you lost your time. Please note that these are for JK students ONLY.
9:00 - 9:45: Ana, Sienna, Colin, Kaiden
10:00 - 10:45: Clarissa, Ava, Gurshaan, Jacob, Eli
11:00 - 11:45: Noah, Matei, Manny, Javraj, Savo
If for some reason your post card states a different time, please contact the school sometime between Monday August 29th to Friday September 2nd between 10-2 for clarification. You can ask for me or use extension 110 to speak to me directly. You do not need to RSVP for this visit, simply show up :) You do not need to bring a backpack or lunch for your little one. When you enter the front entrance of the school, go left through the doors and we are the third classroom on your left. If you did not purchase an important bag during orientation, please bring $1.50 to buy one, or go to Dollarama and purchase a courier bag. They look like this:
These are preferred because they are sturdy and fit a large library book. We have name tags already made for all JK and SK students (laminated this year, woo!), so please flip the label backwards and write their name on it as a temporary label.
The first day for all JKs and all SKs is on Wednesday, September 7th at 9:00 am. There is no staggered entry this year. Parents, unlike this past year, you are not allowed inside the Kindergarten pen before or after school. You will be asked to drop your child off to the teachers supervising the pen. You are welcome to wait outside of the pen to see your child make it in, or simply drop off and go. Teachers will be on supervision in the pen starting at 8:45. During dismissal, we will send your child to you outside of the pen.
Here is the list of supplies we ask that you provide for the year. This helps us keep our creative centre stocked for the year and is greatly appreciated :)
Also, we are excited to announce our first ever parent night. We are going to go over everything... and then some, such as sending in money, our home reading program, assessments, reporting, etc. You will receive this invitation in your child's important bag the first or second day of school.
