Our Current Inquiry: The Skeletal System!

As some of you may know, we are currently learning about the human body. Last week we had a lesson on the skeletal system. We wanted to answer some of the questions our students had! First, we had students estimate how many bones we have in our bodies.

Lily's guess was the closest. We are born with 300 bones, but some of them fuse together and we eventually end up with 206! We learned that our bones serve 3 main functions:

1) To help us stand up
2) To help us move
3) to protect our insides

We also learned that our bones are connected by joints, which help our bones to move! :)
