Literacy: Sounds!

Over the past couple of weeks, we've been learning some important sounds. When we are sounding out words, we always want to look for letters that work together. If we can identify which letters work together, it makes it easier for us to sound out the word. Up to this point, we have learned the following sounds:

all the consonant buddies, sh, ch, wh, th, qu, ing

Please watch the videos below to help you understand more of what we're learning in class, and how you can implement that into your reading at home!! Please note that these videos were made last year.

Consonant Buddies

/sh/, /ch/, /wh/, /th/

/ing/

/qu/

Don't forget that you can download a copy of these sounds! You can cut them out and practice them at home. Try thinking of words that have those sounds in them :)
