This is an update for all students who were referred to our boards Speech and Language pathologist (SLP) (you would know because you got a consent form sent home). Our SLP has been in recently and is still coming in to assess our students. Once the assessment is done, you will receive a copy of the report. I'm thinking it will be another couple of months to get these back. Based on this report, a decision will be made on whether or not your child will receive support through the school system.
I wanted to remind parents to look into getting a hearing and vision test done for your child (if one hasn't been done). If your child is experiencing difficulties at school, this is the first thing that should be addressed.
