General Happenings: The Five Senses!

Recently, we have been learning about our 5 senses! We got to do five activities, one to learn about each sense and why they're important! Check it out below :)

Taste

To learn about our taste, we got to try 5 different foods. Students had to guess which was which! We made them close their eyes. We had salty, sweet, spicy, bitter, and sour!

Sweet: Gummy Bears

Spicy: Hot Tamales

Salty: Munchos Chips

Bitter: Dill Pickle Chips (bitter was the only word we can think of!) :P

Sour: Sour Straps

We did pretty well at guessing which was which!

Smell

It's pretty obvious what we did to learn about smell! We got to smell 6 different scents: lavender, peppermint, orange, vanilla, lemon, and garlic- yuck!

Hearing

To learn about our hearing, we had to match the sounds we heard with the picture cards.

Seeing

For this sense, we looked at some pictures of things that were magnified and we had to guess what they were!

Touching

Last but not least, we each got the chance to feel an items and use words to describe it. Afterwards, we had to guess what it was from our classroom. Our guesses were spot on!

We had a lot of fun learning all about our 5 senses :)

  1. Oh my goodness those videos for taste testing were amazing! Made my day! I can't even get him to eat anything that even LOOKS like it has spice on it, how did you get them to eat something they knew they probably wouldn't like!
