Our Current Inquiry: All About Us!

Every so often, we notice something that the students are really interested in. In previous years, we've learned about volcanos, the world, and the human body. This is called inquiry based learning; when students show an interest in a topic and the educators help to facilitate learning through this topic.

While taking pictures of some of the students last week, we noticed how every single one of them asked to see their picture. They also were so excited to see their pictures up on the wall and on the family tree, and were fascinated at looking at themselves in the mirror in dramatic play!

Mrs. Tortola and I talked about it, and we used these examples to come up with a common theme for future learning:

Identity!

What 4 and 5 year old isn't interested in themselves!? We are going to do some learning together about ourselves, and how we are alike and different from one another :)

We are excited to share this learning with you! Stay tuned! :)
